Despite the mediocre quality of the waves on the final contest day of the '07/'08 season (waist to chest high with a fair S wind bump), the surfers made the best of it and put on a great show for the crowd. Special congratulations to Charles Gates who with his 2nd place finish in the Open Mens is definitely "the future" and we will enjoy watching his progress becoming a top notch surfer. Thanks to all who helped with the event, and to the spectators for their support.

The presentation of the trophies at the end of the 2007/08 contest series took place in Jarred Taylor Park in Hope Town, April 17th. It was great to see most of the competitors over the year in support and we would all especially like to thank Patrick Stewert and the Boxcar Association, who just recently handed the B.A.S.A. a nice $1000 check,,,awesome! Also all the moms for food, drinks, and treats, and Jeff Gale, Chris Chapman and others for the judging over the course of the series.
